$20,000 Loyalty Tournament

Held on the 31st of July, and with a HUGE $20,000 PRIZE POOL, our regular players were rewarded with a great tournament which could be entered into with just Redbacks.

599 players started the tournament, all with their eye on the $5,000 first prize. After nearly 5 hours of great play, bad beats and bluffs we were down to only two players: “blaherv”, who was the chip leader, and “mylittlegirl”.

Six hands into heads-up play and there was a major swing in the chip stacks! With the blinds at 20,000/40,000, blaherv raised from the small blind to 80,000, mylittlegirl pushed all in and blaherv called; we now had the tournaments first one million chip pot. mylittlegirl showed As5d while blaherv showed 3s3h. The flop came Kc 7s 8s and blaherv still held the lead however the turn would prove a huge turning point and when the Ac hit, blaherv was drawing to just one of the two 3s left in the pack. It wasn’t to be and a harmless 8h arrived on the river and in turn a 1,175,731 pot was pushed towards mylittlegirl.

Heads up play continued for another 24 hands until the final hand arrived with blaherv short on chips he pushed all in over the top of mylittlegirl’s raise and after thinking a while mylittlegirl called and showed Kh9h, blaherv flipped up 9d10c and was in pretty bad shape. A king arrived on the flop and mylittlegirl jumped out to a huge lead and although a 10 came on the turn giving blaherv some hope a meaningless 8d on the river gave mylittlegirl the pot and the 1st prize of $5,000!
