32Red Poker’s New Software Review by Stuart Rutter
Exciting changes on 32Red Poker
A few months ago, the lobbies on 32Red were changed in a makeover that made the site look even better, and gave much easier access to all the different parts of the site. The powers that be at 32Red Poker have been working hard, as two weeks ago we were given new-look tables, with even more possibilities.
So, what do I think of the changed site? Well, my feelings after a couple of days were very different to those I have now. Having got used to the new graphics, I feel the site is even more clear, easy and pleasing to use.
I think my experience just goes to prove that no change is an easy one. I am used to playing five or six tables at the same time, and struggled at first, as I felt unsure what was going on. However, things did not take long to change, and if you persevere, things will soon feel more familiar than ever before.
One of the most clever changes is the way the table swings round to always leave you in the same seat. The action and your position on the table becomes much easier to locate. This is helped particularly by a new five second countdown to alert you to your time running out, flashing cards to let you know when it is your turn, and even clearer fold, check and raise tabs, with all the original options allowing you to speed up the action.
It is the timer especially that is useful to me in my hurried effort to play lots of tables at the same time. This challenge is helped massively by another new feature on the site- changeable table sizes. Even a laptop can now fit six tables on the same screen, making it unbelievably easier to follow the action across all the tables.
Are the tables not too small? No, not even on a laptop, and I find in fact the smaller table size makes it clearer to see what is going on. It is strange that, despite things happening at the same pace as before, things now feel much easier and slower. Even with six short-handed tables, I find that I am sometimes sitting waiting for the action, and so am looking into hooking up a second monitor, to fit on even more tables. If you are a multi tabler who plays at a profit, it is easy to imagine the difference the new technology could make.
Seeing all your tables across one screen gives a much greater feeling of control, and has eradicated completely the one problem of multi-tabling, that of clicking on the wrong table. By now not doing this as I used to forevery hour or so of play, it is interesting to think how much money I may have saved! For those who prefer tables that overlap, tables can be tiled and moved in any way you like, and re-sized to anything between the manageable mini table view, and near full-screen large view.
I have always believed the beauty of the graphics on 32Red was in their slickness and simplicity, but to that now is added new features which make the poker table look all the more exciting. You can change table colour to suit you (only now do you have the possibility to play six tables all of different colours!), and your flutter of excitement on winning a pot will be accompanied by colourful chips being pushed towards you!
Changes take time, and I really strongly recommend persevering with the new tables if they seem difficult at first. Playing so many tables means that even the slightest change can tip the timing over the edge, and so I probably found things more difficult than most at first. It’s been a good month at the tables now though, and I’m excited to find out just how many tables it is possible to play under the new improved conditions. I’ll be off to the shops tomorrow to buy the new monitor, and will keep you updated on developments!
Good luck at the new look online poker tables, and, most of all, have fun!
